The large thick rocker curve allows this chair to rock anywhere. We build the Rocking Baldwin Chair for maximum strength and stability. All lumber used in our chairs is cut from slow dried 2" by 6" Western Red Cedar. The seat slats are cut from 1 1/4" thick lumber, the edges rounded over and machine sanded. We use only Stainless Steel screws and bolts in our construction process. The backrest on the Rocking Baldwin Chair has elegant curves. The backrest pieces start at 35 1/2" tall in the center and taper down to 27" on the outside. The backrest also features a clamshell effect, the piece that the backrest pickets are screwed to is curved. This provides great comfort, excellent lower back support, and stylish looks. It feels like you are being hugged.
